Truyện Kiều (Câu 2770-2805)

2770.
Càng ngao ngán nỗi, càng ngơ ngẩn dường!
Đánh liều lên tiếng ngoài tường,
Chàng Vương nghe tiếng vội vàng chạy ra.
Dắt tay vội rước vào nhà,
Mái sau, viên ngoại ông bà ra ngay.

2775.
Khóc than kể hết niềm tây:
“Chàng ôi biết nỗi nước này cho chưa?
Kiều nhi phận mỏng như tờ,
Một lời đã lỗi tóc tơ với chàng!
Gặp cơn gia biến lạ dường,

2780.
Bán mình nó phải tìm đường cứu cha.
Dùng dằng khi bước chân ra,
Cực trăm nghìn nỗi, dặn ba bốn lần.
Trót lời hẹn với lang quân,
Mượn con em nó Thúy Vân thay lời!

2785.
Gọi là trả chút nghĩa người,
Sầu này dằng dặc muôn đời chưa quên!
Kiếp này duyên đã phụ duyên,
Dạ đài còn biết sẽ đền lai sinh.
Mấy lời ký chú đinh ninh,

2790.
Ghi lòng để dạ cất mình ra đi.
Phận sao bạc bấy Kiều nhi?
Chàng Kim về đó con thì đi đâu?”
Ông bà càng nói càng đau,
Chàng càng nghe nói càng rầu như dưa.

2795.
Vật mình vẩy gió tuôn mưa,
Dầm dề hạt ngọc, thẫn thờ hồn mai!
Đau đòi đoạn, ngất đòi hồi,
Tỉnh ra lại khóc, khóc rồi lại mê.
Thấy chàng đau nỗi biệt ly,

2800.
Ngập ngừng, ông mới vỗ về giải khuyên:
“Bây giờ ván đã đóng thuyền,
Đã đành phận bạc, khôn đền tình chung.
Quá thương chút nghĩa đèo bòng,
Nghìn vàng thân ấy dễ hòng bỏ sao?

2770. It was a painful scene that made him even more depressed.
However, Kim ventured to call outside the wall.
As young Vuong heard it, he rushed out once.
Vuong Quan took Kim’s hand and brought him in,
From behind the house, the old Vuong couple came out immediately.

2775. They wept and wailed as they recounted their misfortunes.
“Young man, are you familiar with our situation like this?
Our daughter Kieu, her identity is as weak as a sheet,
She shattered her betrothal with you.
When the disaster happened to our family,

2780. Kieu gave herself up to save her father’s life.
She hesitated and was heartbroken when she left home.
Even when she was grieving, she would advocate for us over and over again.
Because she vowed a sacred oath to you,
She pleaded with her sister Vân to take her place.

2785. And in this way, one way or the other, she will fulfill her promise to you.
She will never forget her own suffering for thousands of lifetimes.
This lifetime has betrayed your true love,
She still wonders if she can repay you after death.
This is what she has said repeatedly.

2790. She engraved them in her heart before she left.
Oh! Kieu, my daughter! Why do you have such a cruel destiny?
Your Kim has come home, but where are you?
The more they talked about Kieu, the more miserable they became.
The more Kim listened to them, the more pain he went through.

2795. He writhed in agony and cried like rain,
His eyes were drenched in tears and his soul was lost in a maze!
He was in pain and fainting from time to time.
When he awoke, he continued to weep and fainted again.
Old Vuong saw him suffer when he was separated,

2800. He held back himself and attempted to console the young man:
“Now the board is pinned to the boat.
Fragile fate makes it impossible for her to repay her faithful lover.
Even though you are burdened with her,
Shouldn’t you throw away your life as precious as gold?”
