Tiếng xưa – The Echoes Of The Past

Tiếng xưa

Hoàng hôn lá reo bên thềm
Hoàng hôn tơi bời lá thu
Sương mờ ngậm ngùi xuân xanh
Bâng khuâng phím loan vương tình

Hoàng hôn gió sương lạnh lùng
Hoàng hôn bao niềm nhớ nhung
Thiết tha đàn rung tiếng tơ
Vấn vương trôi theo mây mờ
Đâu khúc cô liêu duyên dáng tiêu điều
Dư âm chìm theo giòng châu
Tràn lan sóng vương mạch sầu.
Đàn ơi thiết tha vì đâu,
Tiếng xưa trầm ngâm
Lắng rung đường tơ bao mơ màng
Lưu luyến hương thu thêm dịu dàng
Ai có hay chăng
Say khúc ưu tư,
Gió sương chiều thu buồn mơ
Ai đó tri âm hững hờ.

Đâu bóng trăng xưa mơ khúc nghê thường
Phai tàn một thời liệt oanh xa đưa gió mây lạnh lùng
Chiều thu nhớ nhung vì đâu,
Thắm đôi giòng châu
Tiếc thay tại sao đành lỡ làng Man mác khói hương
Bay dịu dàng
Như tóc mây vương
Dáng liễu mơ màng cung đàn nhỏ lệ Tầm Dương
Ai đó tri âm biết cùng.

The Echoes Of The Past

When the sun went down, the leaves sang upon the steps.
When the sun went down, the autumn leaves were tattered.
The mist mourned a youthfulness,
Bewilderedly the melodious song breathed love.

When the sun went down, the wind and fog brought the chill.
When the sun went down, it was very nostalgic.
The lute trembled with passion,
Bewilderedly floating in the misty clouds.
Where was the lovely and desolate song?
Echoes overwhelmed by tears,
And bore the waves of sadness.
Oh, the lute! Why was it so enthusiastic?
The echoes of the past were contemplative.
The gentle melody vibrated like a dream,
And the subtle fragrance of autumn.
Did anyone know,
I went out of my mind with a sad song.
On a misty autumn afternoon?
How could true lovers be indifferent?

Where was the shadow of the old moon dreaming of an enchanting song?
A glorious moment has passed.
In the distance, the breeze was cold.
How many memories did autumn afternoon bring,
And the tears broke down?
Regrettably, why was our love unfulfilled?
The scent floated gently
As hair adorned with clouds
In a dreamlike slim figure.
Music wept for the Tam Duong bridge,
True lovers could understand each other.

Đặng Hoàng Lan Translated From The Song “Tiếng xưa” Of Musician Dương Thiệu Tước.
