Những là nấn ná đợi tin,
Nắng mưa biết đã mấy phen đổi dờỉ?
Năm mây bỗng thấy chiếu trời,
Khâm ban sắc chỉ đến nơi rành rành:
Kim thì cải nhậm Nam Bình,

2950.
Chàng Vương cũng cải nhậm thành Châu dương.
Sắm xanh xe ngựa vội vàng,
Hai nhà cùng thuận một đường phó quan.
Xảy nghe thế giặc đã tan,
Sóng êm Phúc kiến lửa tàn Chiết giang.

2955.
Được tin Kim mới nhủ Vương,
Tiện đường cùng lại tìm nường sau xưa.
Hàng Châu đến đó bấy giờ,
Thật tin hỏi được tóc tơ rành rành.
Rằng: “Ngày hôm nọ giao binh,

2960.
Thất cơ Từ đã thu linh trận tiền.
Nàng Kiều công cả chẳng đền,
Lệnh quan lại bắt ép duyên thổ tù.
Nàng đà gieo ngọc trầm chu,
Sông Tiền Đường đó, ấy mồ hồng nhan!”

2965.
Thương ôi! không hợp mà tan,
Một nhà vinh hiển, riêng oan một nàng!
Chiêu hồn, thiết vị lễ thường,
Giải oan, lập một đàn tràng bên sông.
Ngọn triều, non bạc trùng trùng,

2970.
Vời trông còn tưởng cánh hồng lúc gieo.
Tình thâm, bể thẳm lạ điều,
Nào hồn tinh vệ biết theo chốn nào?
Cơ duyên đâu bỗng lạ sao,
Giác Duyên đâu bỗng tìm vào đến nơi.

2975.
Trông lên linh vị chữ bài,
Thất kinh mới hỏi: “Những người đâu ta?
Với nàng thân thích gần xa,
Người còn sao bỗng làm ma khóc người?”
Nghe tin ngơ ngác, rụng rời,

He waited a while for the news to come out.
How many times has the rainfall passed?
A decree came from the emperor on rainbow-colored paper,
Giving clear instructions to the two young mandarins.
Kim will take over at Nam Binh,

2950.
Vuong will be appointed in Chau Duong.
They hastened to prepare their horses and chariots for the departure.
The two families were ready to leave on a mission together.
They found out that the rebels had been vanquished.
The waves were calm in Phuc Kien and the fires were extinguished in Chiet Giang.

2955. Knowing this, Kim asked Vuong
To help him seek out Kieu on the way.
When they came to Hang Chau, they could clearly obtain,
Precise and detailed information about her.
It was aforesaid that, “On the day of fierce fighting,

2960. Lord Tu lost the conspiracy of the enemy and was killed on the battlefield.
Kieu was not honored for her main merit,
But was forced to marry a local Mandarin.
She drowned her precious body in the watercourse,
The river Tien Duong became her grave”

2965. It was so bitter not to unite, but to break up!
The entire family was glorious, but she died unjustly.
They showed a tablet for the habitual ritual invoking her spirit.
To justify her, they placed an altar beside the river,
The silver waves of the river Tien Duong rose from layer to layer.

2970.
In the waves, as if he were watching her toss herself into the river.
Because of the deep love and the sight of the immense river, Kim felt like a strange thing,
Where did the spirit incarnate of her seabird go?
It was heaven’s own design that took place,
Giac Duyen passed by and dropped in.

2975. She saw the tablet and Kieu’s name on the board,
With all her fear, she asked Kim, “Who are you?
What kind of relationship do you have with that woman?
Why do you mourn for the one who is still alive?
When everyone got the news, they were petrified with astonishment.
