Truyện Kiều (Câu 2630-2665)

2630.
Chút vì việc nước mà ra phụ lòng.
Giết chồng mà lại lấy chồng,
Mặt nào mà lại đứng trong cõi đời?
Thôi thì một thác cho rồi,
Tấm lòng phó mặc trên trời dưới sông!”

2635.
Trông vời con nước mênh mông
Đem mình gieo xuống giữa dòng tràng giang.
Thổ quan theo vớt vội vàng,
Thì đà đắm ngọc, chìm hương cho rồi!
Thương thay cũng một kiếp người!

2640.
Hại thay, mang lấy sắc tài làm chi!
Những là oan khổ lưu ly,
Chờ cho hết kiếp còn gì là thân!
Mười lăm năm bấy nhiêu lần,
Làm gương cho khách hồng quần thử soi.

2645.
Đời người đến thế thì thôi,
Trong cơ âm cực, dương hồi khôn hay.
Mấy người hiếu nghĩa xưa nay,
Trời làm chi đến lâu ngày càng thương?
Giác Duyên từ tiết giã nàng,

2650.
Đeo bầu quảy tráp rộng đường vân du.
Gặp bà Tam Hợp đạo cô,
Thong dong hỏi hết nhỏ to sự nàng:
“Người sao hiếu nghĩa đủ đường,
Kiếp sao chịu những đoạn trường thế thôi!”.

2655,
Sư rằng: “Phúc họa đạo trời,
Cỗi nguồn cũng ở lòng người mà ra.
Có trời mà cũng tại ta,
Tu là cỗi phúc tình là dây oan.
Thúy Kiều sắc sảo khôn ngoan,

2660,
Vô duyên là phận hồng nhan đã đành!
Lại mang lấy một chữ tình,
Khư khư mình buộc lấy mình vào trong.
Vậy nên những chốn thong dong,
Ở không yên ổn, ngồi không vững vàng.

2630.
For the sake of the nation, I betrayed him.
To kill my husband and get married again.
How can I live and show my countenance upon the earth!
Well then, I have only death to choose from.
I shall entrust my heart to heaven and to the river”.

2635. And she cast her eyes across the vast tides,
Then pitch herself into the midst of the river.
The local Mandarin flung himself in a hurry to rescue her,
But she has already sunk into the river.
How unfortunate for a human fate!

2640. Sadly, her beauty and talent have taken a toll on her.
She has endured a great deal of suffering and exile.
What did she leave behind at the end of her lifetime?
In the past fifteen years, how often has she lived a miserable life?
That determined a good example for women to reflect.

2645. How so forlorn her life was!
But who knew that the wheel of destiny will bring bliss after sorrow.
For those that were filial and grateful for the past to our days.
God will do a lot of misfortune before he bestows favors.
From the time that Giac Duyen bid farewell to Kieu,

2650. With the gourd and the bag, she set out for her long pilgrimage.
Along the way, she happened to meet the nun Tam Hop.
She asked about Kieu’s plight in detail,
“What a beautiful girl with piety and kindness!
Why was her destiny filled with disaster and suffering?

2655.
The nun said: “To receive blessings or to have misfortunes are all gifts from God,
Nevertheless, everything comes from the human heart.
God decides but we do as well,
Renouncing the world will reap joy, and lust will turn pain.
Thuy Kieu is a beautiful and intelligent girl,

2660. As a beautiful woman, she has to endure a cruel fate.
Moreover, she always continues to love,
And she always binds herself within.
Therefore, when she lives in easy and free places,
She cannot remain calm and do nothing.
