Truyện Kiều (Câu 2350-2385)

2350.
Nửa phần khiếp sợ, nửa phần mừng vui.
Nàng rằng: “Xin hãy rốn ngồi,
Xem cho rõ mặt, biết tôi báo thù!”.
Kíp truyền chư tướng hiến phù,
Lại đem các tích phạm tù hậu tra.

2355.
Dưới cờ, gươm tuốt nắp ra,
Chính danh thủ phạm tên là Hoạn Thư.
Thoạt trông nàng đã chào thưa:
“Tiểu thư cũng có bây giờ đến đây?
Đàn bà dễ có mấy tay,

2360.
Đời xưa mấy mặt đời này mấy gan?
Dễ dàng là thói hồng nhan,
Càng cay nghiệt lắm càng oan trái nhiều”.
Hoạn Thư hồn lạc phách xiêu,
Khấu đầu dưới trướng, liệu điều kêu ca.

2365.
Rằng: “Tôi chút phận đàn bà,
Ghen tuông thì cũng người ta thường tình,
Nghĩ cho khi gác viết kinh,
Với khi khỏi cửa dứt tình chẳng theo.
Lòng riêng riêng những kính yêu,

2370.
Chồng chung chưa dễ ai chiều cho ai.
Trót lòng gây việc chông gai,
Còn nhờ lượng bể thương bài cho chăng?”
“Khen cho thật đã nên rằng,
Khôn ngoan đến mực nói năng phải lời,

2375.
Tha ra thì cũng may đời,
Làm ra mang tiếng con người nhỏ nhen.
Đã lòng tri quá thì nên…”
Truyền quân lệnh xuống trướng tiền tha ngay.
Tạ lòng lạy trước sân mây,

2380.
Cửa viên lại dắt một dây dẫn vào,
Nàng rằng: “Lồng lộng trời cao,
Hại nhân, nhân hại, sự nào tại ta!
Trước là Bạc Hạnh, Bạc Bà,
Bên là Ưng, Khuyển, bên là Sở Khanh.

2350. Half was influenced by fear, the other half was ruled by happiness.
Kieu said, “Relax and stay awhile,
To see their faces and how I’m going to get my vengeance”.
So she ordered the captives to be brought before the ancestors’ altar,
And questioned them for all their crimes.

2355. Beneath the flags, the swords were unsheathed and raised.
The name of the main culprit was called: Hoan Thu.
At a glance, Kieu greeted and subtly said,
“So now you are here too, young lady.
A woman of your stature is rare,

2360. Before and now, it is difficult to find a woman with a heart of steel.
As a woman, you should have an easy mind.
No matter how cruel, you will suffer naturally. “
Hoan Thu was unconscious,
She bowed her head to the ground and mourned,

2365. “I have the spirit of a woman whose soul is mean-spirited,
And jealousy is a characteristic which all humans share.
Reflect when I let you stay in the temple and write sutras.
When you ran away, I never pursued you.
In the depth of my heart, I respect you.

2370. But the husband is not something that should be shared.
I have committed a lot of annoyance for you.
Now I look in your good heart to plead with you”.
Kieu praised: “Your words are true!
What you are saying is clearly intelligent and sensible.

2375.
Forgiving yourself is a life-giving blessing.
I will be a mean spirit if I castigate you.
Because you truly know your faults, you deserve to be released”.
Then she ordered to spare Hoan Thu,
Who knelt upon the court ground with gratitude.

2380. A long queue of prisoners was brought from the door
Kieu said, “The sky is very high.
Anybody who hurts anyone else is going to get hurt, and that’s not my law.
First of all, are the scammers Dame Bac and Bac Hanh,
Next is the Hawk, the Hound; and then So Khanh,
