Tấc lòng cố quốc tha nhang,
Đường kia nỗi nọ ngổn ngang bời bời.
Cánh hồng bay bổng tuyệt vời,
Đã mòn con mắt phương trời đăm đăm.
Đêm ngày luống những âm thầm,

2250.
Lửa binh đâu đã ầm ầm một phương,
Ngất trời sát khí mơ màng,
Đầy sông kình ngạc, chật đường giáp binh.
Người quen kẻ thuộc chung quanh
Nhủ nàng hãy tạm lánh mình một nơi.

2255.
Nàng rằng: “Trước đã hẹn lời,
Dẫu trong nguy hiểm dám rời ước xưa!”
Còn đương dùng dắng ngẩn ngơ,
Mái ngoài đã thấy bóng cờ tiếng loa.
Giáp binh kéo đến quanh nhà,

2260.
Đồng thanh cùng hỏi: “Nào là phu nhân?
Hai bên mười vị tướng quân,
Đặt gươm cởi giáp, trước sân khấu đầu.
Cung nga, thể nữ nối sau,
Rằng: “Vâng lệnh chỉ rước chầu vu quy”.

2265.
Sẵn sàng phượng liễn loan nghi,
Hoa quan phấp phới hà y rỡ ràng.
Dựng cờ, nổi trống lên đàng,
Trúc tơ nổi trước, kiệu vàng kéo sau.
Hỏa bài tiền lộ ruổi mau,

2270.
Nam đình nghe động trống chầu đại doanh.
Kéo cờ lũy, phát súng thành,
Từ công ra ngựa, thân nghênh cửa ngoài.
Lữa mình, lạ vẻ cân đai,
Hãy còn hàm én mày ngài như xưa.

2275.
Cười rằng: “Cá nước duyên ưa,
Nhớ lời nói những bao giờ hay không?
Anh hùng mới biết anh hùng,
Rầy xem phỏng đã cam lòng ấy chưa?”.
Nàng rằng: “Chút phận ngây thơ,

2245. Then the nostalgia of those who were away from home.
Filled her spirit with mind-boggling thoughts.
While her husband was like a great bird in flight,
She waited eagerly for him.
Day and night, she lived alone as the shade,

2250.
At a time when the flames of war were raging in many areas of the region.
A deadly atmosphere shrouded the covered sky,
Powerful soldiers filled the river and armor and weapons blocked the road.
Her acquaintances and neighbors appealed to her,
Running away and staying in a place out of reach of danger.

2255. She answered, “I vowed to wait for my husband here,
Even in the face of danger, I will not break my word”.
Whereas she was still confused and indecisive.
She saw the flags hovering outside and heard the jingling of the gongs.
Armored troops showed up and surrounded the house,

2260.
All of them asked in unison: “Where is the lady? ”
Ten generals stood in two rows and laid down their swords,
Took off their robes and knelt on the floor.
The imperial servant and lovely women followed behind them.
And he said, “By the commandment of the Lord, we will lead you home”.

2265. A sculpted phoenix carriage with an ornate curtain was ready,
With the imperial crown and the brilliant suit.
They brought up the flag, beat the drum and began the journey.
The music was in front and the golden palanquin of Kieu followed,
And the soldiers holding yellow boards advanced to proclaim.

2270. And the drums of the Southern Dynasty rang out.
Flags were flying above the ramparts and guns were bursting from the forts.
Lord Tu himself rode to the gate to welcome her.
He looked oddly magnificent in his ceremonial gown,
But he always appeared with the same sparrow chin and the same silkworm eyebrows.

2275. Tu laughed: “Our union is like fish and water.
Do you recall what I said before?
Only a hero might know the hero as well.
Are you satisfied with what you have at the present time?”.’
She said, “My humble and fragile destiny,
