Truyện Kiều (Câu 2175-2210)

2175.
Qua chơi nghe tiếng nàng Kiều,
Tấm lòng nhi nữ cùng xiêu anh hùng.
Thiếp danh đưa đến lầu hồng,
Hai bên cùng liếc hai lòng cùng ưa.
Từ rằng: “Tâm phúc tương cờ

2180.
Phải người trăng gió vật vờ hay sao?
Bấy lâu nghe tiếng má đào,
Mắt xanh chẳng để ai vào có không?
Một đời được mấy anh hùng,
Bõ chi cá chậu, chim lồng mà chơi”.

2185.
Nàng rằng: “Người dạy quá lời,
Thân này còn dám coi ai làm thường!
Chút riêng chọn đá thử vàng,
Biết đâu mà gởi can tràng vào đâu?
Còn như vào trước ra sau,

2190.
Ai cho kén chọn vàng thau tại mình”.
Từ rằng: “Lời nói hữu tình,
Khiến người lại nhớ câu Bình Nguyên Quân
Lại đây xem lại cho gần,
Phỏng tin được một vài phần hay không?”

2195.
Thưa rằng: “Lượng cả bao dong,
Tấn Dương được thấy mây rồng có phen.
Rộng thương cỏ nội hoa hèn,
Chút thân bèo bọt dám phiền mai sau!”
Nghe lời vừa ý gật đầu,

2200.
Cười rằng: “Tri kỷ trước sau mấy người?
Khen cho con mắt tinh đời,
Anh hùng đoán giữa trần ai mới già!
Một lời đã biết tên ta,
Muôn chung nghìn tứ cũng là có nhau!”

2205.
Hai bên ý hợp tâm đầu,
Khi thân chẳng lựa là cầu mới thân!
Ngỏ lời nói với băng nhân,
Tiền trăm lại cứ nguyên ngân phát hoàn.
Buồng riêng sửa chốn thanh nhàn,

2175. When he came to town to enjoy himself, he heard of Kieu’s reputation,
And the girl’s heart shook the hero’s will.
His name card was sent to her red chamber.
When they looked at each other, they both celebrated.
Tu said: “We should treat each other with sincerity,

2180.
It is not me who plays with love.
I’ve known about your charms for a long time,
You haven’t seen anyone content, have you?
How many heroes do you think this world has?
They are not worthwhile playing with caged birds or fish in traps.”

2185. Kieu answered: “You praise me exceedingly,
My humble status dares offend no one.
I desire to choose the stone to prove the gold,
But to whom may I trust and give my heart?
For those guests that come and go here,

2190. How do I sift genuine gold out of brass?”.
Tu exclaimed: “What lovely words you say!
The story of Prince Binh Nguyen Quan comes to mind.
Come here and look at me carefully,
To see if I am worthy of your trust.”

2195. Kieu politely said: “You have a great and generous heart,
Tan Duong will before long see the dragon in the clouds.
If you take care of that wild grass and that unpretentious flower,
Can I count on your goodwill later?”
With great satisfaction, he nodded his head and said with a smile,

2200. “How many intimates can we find in life?
This is absolutely commendable for your keen and wise eyes of the world,
In which to spot the hero in life drifts masterfully.
From what you have said, I can clearly see that you believe in me.
We will be together when I am high.”

2205.
Both were aware that their souls were in perfect harmony.
When destiny is meant to be, people don’t have to beg for the love of others.
Then he sent word to the matchmaker
And reimbursed the exact amount of Kieu’s liberation.
He set up his own room for their resting place.
